Workshop on Wardrobe Styling | JD Institute

One of the highlights of is the number of activities students go throughout their curriculum. They are nurtured with the right amount of outside classroom activities, giving them the required experience and knowledge. Recently in association with Bangalore Design Week, JD Institute conducted a wardrobe styling workshop for all the jediiians and aspirant stylists which was mentored by the in-house stylist – Mr Sidhanta Das.

So often, everyone gets into a situation of wearing the same item, the same way, again and again. With this workshop, the students and participants were guided on different dynamics of personal styling, wardrobe editing, styling techniques, personal shopping and the art of clustering. The session also involved a detailed discussion on the multiple facets of Fashion styling and how it is essential into the industry these days.

Apart from this, they also had one on one session with the faculty, understanding different body types, face analysis, personal colouring etc. By the end of the workshop, students were supposed to create looks, minimal and exaggerated, keeping in mind the colour theories and elements and principles of design. They co-ordinated various patterns, solids, textures, fabrics, and silhouettes to create beautiful looks and styles. They also explored various props and accessories during the process of styling these dummies to elaborate the looks.

It was an insightful and interactive workshop for all students to understand the importance and relevance of wardrobe styling along with its application. Jediiians stated “It was an amazing experience to understand how styling works. The workshop also opened our horizons to think of it as a career opportunity”.
