WORK AND LEARN – JEDIIIANS VOLUNTEER AT 21st EDITION OF OZONE BANGALORE FASHION WEEK
The 21st edition of Ozone Bangalore Fashion Week – Winter Festive was held at The Oterra from 29th August 2019 to 01st September 2019. Over 30 leading designers showcased their collections at the event, among them were JD Mentor and designer par excellence, Manoviraj Khosla, Pria Kataria Puri, Dhwani Bansal, Abhishek Dutta, Rahul Singh, Reshma Riyaz Gangji, Amit G T to name a few.
The evening came alive with the burst of colour, grandeur and creativity with each collection. The designers went all out to put up a showcase that let the audience feast their eyes on collections that showcased the richness of benarasi handloom, cotton silks, chanderi and handloom linens. The intricacy of beadwork, embroidery and elegant textures showcased the ethereal workmanship. The delicateness of intricacy was then peppered with the ruggedness of the biker jackets which also made an appearance on the ramp. Apart from the richness of Indian looms and weaves, there was a lot of choice in terms of the elegant textures, indo-western silhouettes, vintage and middle-eastern influence. Gender free garments are the order of the day and the highlight of the show was a unisex garment which was introduced in free size.
The four day extravaganza was a sight to behold, with fashion quotient to its optimum. Events like these, are a learning ground for students to do some ground work and gain exposure that will help them attain confidence and a knack to understand a professional set-up. The students of Post-Graduation Diploma in Fashion Communication from JD Institute of Fashion Technology, were fortunate to receive an opportunity to volunteer in the PR team for the Bangalore Fashion Week. Apart from volunteering, the students were able to witness the learning
Anila Wilson, PGDFC student from JD Institute of Fashion Technology, Bangalore who was one of the volunteers for the PR team at the fashion week stated that, “The experience to volunteer at the Bangalore Fashion Week was a great experience. I got an opportunity to interact with industry peers and experts. Since, I was a part of the PR team, I got to handle the official Instagram page of Bangalore Fashion Week.”
