Zero wastage is the concept based on which designers have created the collection Urban Morocco. Through subtraction pattern making, the patterns are interlocked like puzzle pieces eliminating the odd pieces that would normally be wasted. The leftovers are creatively used as embellishments on the garments. The collection makes use of sustainable fabrics – soy, ahimsa silk, merino wool and New Zealand wool. With a colour palette of bright green and Prussian blue that is highly popular in the Middle East, the collection is chic with hints of colours of black, white and grey. The silhouettes have an air of resort wear mixed with Bohemian style, complete with cut works inspired from the architecture and tanneries of Morocco and ombre dyed metallic silver lustre to define relaxed luxury. The collection is presented by Preethi S Patel & Syeda Shaista from B.Sc. batch.
