Unblend is a structured, elegant and classy collection for the Derby. The ideation process led to the invention of an innovative and new fabric generated by using yarns meticulously. The yarns used for the process have either been recycled or have zero emission. The produced fabric is an amalgamation of noil, cotton cord, waste Muslin and hibiscus as weft yarns. Hibiscus is a handspun yarn which adds on to the motive of being ethical and sustainable as it has a zero carbon footprint, does not consume any electricity and is completely handmade. Since the fabric is like an unfilled canvas, the designers have painted a picture by using surface embellishments. The collection stands tall on the pillars of sustainable, Ethical and innovative as the exclusive and customized hand-woven fabric is versatile and not found readily in the market. The collection is presented by Gowthami Shekharaiah, Radhika Vyas Lanjekar and Rashmi Yadav Kumar from the March Diploma Batch.
