Tiny treasure is a collection that talks about everyone’s childhood. Presented at JD Design Awards 2022, the collection is designed by fashion designers Mahak and Bela Bothra. The designers for their kids wear collection took inspiration from one of the most loved childhood toys, the pinwheel.

The reason for taking pinwheel as an inspiration was profound. “The pinwheel is made from natural and recyclable material. If one looks into intricate details of it you will see it uses paper, stick and wire to hold. These all are recyclable products”, say the designers.

Resonating with the same concept is our Indian culture. If we see the kids’ dresses have been used in varied ways from infants to young teens. Buying a plus size for kids which assures longevity is a sustainable thought process as well as economical. Analysing these traits and the features of pinwheel, the designers further divided into their inspiration and put forward a collection of ten garments.

According to them, “Pinwheel is a colourful toy. The curves at which these strips are joined, gives it the possibility of moving freely that brings joy to the kids. Similarly, dresses with similar cuts can be developed that gives the kids comfort.”

The unique collection focuses on the happiness, joy and colours of childhood, taking in picture the pinwheel. Presented at JD Design Awards 2022 that was themed on Sync with nature, the collection truly showcased the sync of our emotions with our surroundings.
