Thehrav means permanence which is a colossal issue in kidswear. Today when you visit the showrooms and market places, kidswear and brands catering to it are flourishing everyday, however, even with so many options, the sustainability factor goes missing. At the JD Design Awards 2022, we witnessed a solution for it.

The proud Jediiian and budding designer Harmeet Kaur Bhavra took up this grave issue and explored a solution for it through the means of design. Her collection named Thehrav highlighted the durability problem in kidswear and went ahead to solve it by combining the knowledge gained through her curriculum and market research.

The beautiful collection Thehrav focuses on curating convertible garments for pre-teen kids. During the brainstorming, the designer found that pre-teen body changes very frequently, hence leading to wastage issues as the garments fit the body of the individual maximum for a year.

The structure of the ensemble was inspired by Indonesian Octopus. The characteristic of the attire is that it can change its shape and design and can get converted into different dresses that can be used at different ages. The collection uses hues like light taupe, silver plate and rose gold along with organza and bemberg cupro fabric.

The overall design has a subtle yet alluring appeal with layers that open up to become like a gown. The collection has a lot of intricacies that involve a deep understanding of Fashion Design. The designer, to put across a cohesive collection also experimented with different stitches and motifs.

 Thehrav collection includes various structured attires like ball gown, frocks with accentuated neckline and yoke detailing. The sleeves also range from cape styled to umbrella style. The unique idea of Designer Harmeet Kaur Bhavra received huge accolades from the grand platform of JD Design Awards 2022.

This year’s theme was Sync and the designer marvelously adapted it to give rise to a collection that not only draws inspiration from Mother Earth and its being but also helps in aiding the health of the planet. The kidswear section has always been surrounded with durability issues but with Thehrav and its concept, the issue can be met with a positive solution without hampering the Fashion industry.

For such creative and brilliant ideas, the Designer also received Best Design Collection Award- Kidswear Category from JD Design Awards 2022.
