Designers in today’s time are not just artistic souls but are devising various designs to solve problems with innovation. JD Design Awards is a platform that gives the designers a way to put out the best of their ideas and showcase how the world can be changed with design.
Designer Karthik N going ahead on the similar line curated the project The Neutral Knot. The project promotes carbon-free homes and net zero energy building. Zero energy homes are just like any home- except better. They are regular grid-tied homes that are air-tight, well insulated, and energy efficient. These houses produce as much renewable energy as they consume over the course of a year, leaving the occupants with a net zero energy bill, and a carbon-free home.
A zero-energy home is not just a green home or a home with solar panels. It is a home that combines advanced design and superior building systems with energy efficiency and on-site solar panels to produce a better home. Zero energy homes are ultra-comfortable, healthy, quiet, sustainable homes and are also affordable to live in.
Zero energy buildings are becoming a rage in the United States as well as European nations, however in India it is still in the conceptual state. With the Neutral Knot, the designer aims to make it a sustainable shift in the building construction zone. The project received the Best Concept of the Year Award by JD Design Awards 2022 that was themed on Sync with nature.
