The Last Painting was designed by Divine S Kumar and Ruchitha Gowda L, students of BSc. in Fashion and Apparel Design at JD School of Design powered by JD Institute of Fashion Technology, Bengaluru for JD Design Awards 2023. Abstract art is an expression of shape, colour, line and form from whose imagery often departs from reality. Abstract art has a unique voice that provokes interest permitting both artists and viewers a distinct sense of freedom and expression. Artists approach their art in unique ways, creating a language of their own to describe their take on altered reality. One such artist who bought life to the world of abstract is Wassily Kandinsky, often regarded as the pioneer of European abstract art. He celebrated the power of colour Kandinsky’s use of colours is elegant over a muted canvas. Colours and contrast drive the viewer from one event to next each popping its own story. The young fashion designer collection is based on Wassily Kandinsky’s understanding of art from his point of view and what it portrays by bringing the movements of his paintings into life in the world of fashion.
