Growing cafe culture has pushed interior designers to explore this area of business. Today’s cafes are all about delivering one of a kind experience with their offerings as well as visually. Tapping into this market interior designer Aanshu Vikram Parmar came up with a cafe project, The Bean Houzz for JD Design Awards 2022.

The Bean Houzz is a Greek style inspired cafe located near a beach in Kozhikode, Kerala. The cafe is made from natural and eco-friendly materials like terrazzo tiles, reclaimed wood and reused fabric. The cafe is designed to give the visitors an experience of the famous Santorini island. The cafe would serve salads, pizzas, and starters while balancing the different flavors of beverages. The services would be provided by differently-abled people.

“Bringing the concept of Santorini houses into India in the form of a cafe was a dream. I always wanted to visit the island of Santorini but then I thought what if I could bring Santorini in my own city”, said the designer when asked about her inspiration.

Designer Aanshu Vikram Parmar for her extraordinary project also received the Special Jury Award from JD Design Awards 2022.
