Telephoto Lens – All you need to know!

Telephoto Lens is used for getting close to the action or sneaking up on a subject from a safe distance and is thrilling and can result in wonderful photos. Long tele and zoom lenses, on the other hand, magnify the effects of camera shake produced by your failure to hold the camera and lens perfectly still. Wind, moving or shaking floors, and lingering camera mirror vibration are all factors to consider. Start with a fast film, ISO 400 or higher, when handholding your camera and lens. In a range of lighting settings, this will let you use greater shutter speeds (1/1000 sec and above) while minimizing the impacts of shake. Use the right stance: arms tucked into the body, elbows partially supported by the chest or abdomen, and the left hand and arm balancing the lens and camera.

Telephoto Lens - All you need to know! With a long tele or zoom lens, a tripod is the best way to ensure minimal vibration effects. You can use slower shutter speeds and lower ISO-higher resolution films with a strong one. Tie a three to five pound weight to the central column of a wobbly tripod for increased stability. Telephoto lenses are mainly used for Wildlife Photography, as it helps zoom in the distant subject. It also makes the subject appear closer to the lens, which helps in taking excellent pictures. Telephoto lenses also help in highlighting the blurred backgrounds and create amazing portraits. But it won’t let you use the slowest shutter speeds, but you can get away with or without using a tripod. But it will allow you to shoot safely, that is, at speeds two or three steps slower than you’d have to use if you were shooting handheld, without the fear of picture weakening shake. It may be able to shoot in lower light and/or with a slower, finer-grained film as a result of this.
