TECHCRAFT – JD Design Awards 2024

This collection envisions a life in the future whereby human lives will be entangled with advanced technology, resulting in the loss of traditional ways of living and face-to-face communication. Wires inspired this design into a fusion of 3D printing techniques, symbolising technology and humanity coming into one. 3D printing of TPU filament is well noted for being recyclable and biodegradable. By using 3D printing, a design can produce innovative fashion pieces that take the form of wires and thereby supply a futuristic, artistic look to wearers design approach.

ILLUSTRATIONS & BOARD

This collection presents a world in which the lives of human beings are closely linked with advanced technology and face-to-face communication will be lost. 3D printing is produced using TPU filament, the base in this collection is recyclable and biodegradable. This material offers the ability to make complex and flexible designs by using intricate forms of wires.

JDDA 2024

These designs epitomize a future in which high technology has been intricately integrated into human functions. The use of 3D printing techniques for making the collection allows for an actual tangible representation of that integration of technology physically. Innovation in use showcases how the end product is improved and enhanced in function. With the use of 3D printing, fashion pieces will resemble wires. This is essentially what the collection is in visual form, depicting the bridging of technology and humanity. 3D printing new manufacturing & processing technology Soft Segment (polyether or polyester) It is made up of a polyol and an isocyanate. It imparts flexibility and the elastomeric character of a TPU.
