Mr. Manoj Kumar has been an active contributor in the field of Jewellery since 2009. He started his journey with being the Sales Executive in a showroom and continued in the same company as a Gold Accountant. After being promoted to the Manager for handling the manufacturing unit, he gained 6 years of industrial exposure and experience. Currently, he is working as a Business Development Executive with an aim to help budding jewellery designers set up their own unit. On being invited as a Guest Speaker at JD Institute of Fashion Technology, Mr. Manoj covered various facets of the jewellery industry for the Department of Jewellery Design. Predominantly, he focused on how a small scale jewellery manufacturing unit can be established. The lecture comprised of topics of relevance, such as hallmarking of gold, prices of machinery, various techniques in polishing, labour management, conversion of gold karatage, price slabs of semi-precious gemstones and gemstones that are extensively used in the diverse field of jewellery. The session was interactive and comprehensive. The jewellery designers felt motivated to start their own jewellery unit some day.
