Sahai Organization is an organization formed in 2002, located in Frazer Town Bangalore to fight against the rising suicide cases in Bangalore. They have a wonderful team of counsellors who help people in emotional distress or those having a meltdown. The chief speaker for the day was Ms Aban Madan who is a specialist in handling emotional distress and depression, she comes with 33 years of experience and has been part of Sahai for quite some time.
The main topics of interaction were about stress, depression and tackling the same. One of the main reasons for getting stress is due to sleep deprivation, when we deprive sleep of our body, it forms stress and starts affecting our daily routine. Another point was understanding our mission and aim in life, understanding the difference between hardships and stress. We need to organize our life according to our priorities, this leads to easy management of our lives and reduces our stress.
Depression is something everyone goes through and there is nothing to be ashamed of. It’s perfectly normal for us to be depressed about certain things but the answer to your depression is the timely help which we need to look for. There are many organizations or people whom we can approach for getting help. The early we do that the less stress we will be and helps to have a balanced and smooth life.
The session helped many students to vent out their queries, to which Ms Aban answered. The session came to an end with a very intense though, that depression and stress can be tackled and the only person who can help you to tackle is yourself, the early you seek help the better.
