Cafe culture has embraced the world. It is no longer just a European element. Cities are going through paradigm shifts with cafes booming everyday. Getting hold of the market, interior designer Vidhi A Jain came up with her project Sweven for JD Design Awards 2022.

Sweven is an art cafe located in Bangalore, Karnataka. It is designed using the style of surrealism. Surrealism is a cultural movement that is marked by the creative potential of the unconscious mind. The inspection of the cafe is ‘belief’, which talks about human belief.  Every human despite their age, race, and gender, has one thing in common. That factor is belief! What people believe might be different but there is a universal agreement that belief is what helps form a community.

Going ahead with this theme the designer-mind worked and came up with a design that used sustainable materials like reclaimed wood, glass, stainless steel, and more. The project also received the Mentor’s Choice Award for the Best Methodology from JD Design Awards 2022.
