The collection Subaqueous of JD Design Awards 2022 was designed by Visali who is pursuing her PG Diploma in Fashion design and Business Management. Her inspiration is Subaqueous which means undersea and her concept is Matsya Avatar. Matsya is one of the ten avatars incarnations of God Vishnu and according to the designer Matsya avatar refers to mystery, fluidity, calm, depth and preservation. The designer chooses fish as it is the first living thing on earth. The designer had  done intense research for her inspiration. Her collection is a high-end streetwear and the colours she picked are derived from the sea bed and the print and fabric manipulation technique have been inspired from the ornamental fins of the Guppy fish.

The collection Subaqueous includes nine garments each of which showcases the beauty of underwater life. The collection is menswear and has comfortable attires that highlight the cosiness of the sea. Moreover, this JD Design Awards Collection also has hints of coral beauty that is achieved by manipulating the fabric.
