Styling Workshop by Ms. Lakshmi Murugesh from Zivame

Lingerie is a sensitive topic and still raises eyebrows, when spoken about in public. Lingerie should make you feel empowered. It’s the little secret that every woman carries around with her. JD Institute of Fashion Technology is blessed with innumerable women in terms of students and faculty members. And, with Breast Cancer Awareness Month being round the corner, we collaborated with Styling Workshop by Ms. Lakshmi Murugesh from Zivame. Ms. Lakshmi Murugesh, Senior Design Manager from Zivame visited our Bangalore campus and delivered a talk on body positivity, different types of collection, basics of lingerie design and the scope of lingerie design as a career option. The session also entailed the style quotient revolving around different ways to style bralettes, ways to wear t-shirt bras and trendy fashion tips. The students were extremely enthusiastic and given an opportunity to stylize bralettes and activewear to win freebies. It was an insightful workshop for students to understand the importance and relevance of lingerie design.

About Ms. Lakshmi Murugesh

With a Masters degree in Apparel Design from NID, Ahmedabad, Ms. Lakshmi started her career as a Maternitywear Designer and has also designed a range of maternity bras for Bodycare, as a freelancing project. Thereafter, she worked with Enamor for 4 years and is currently working as a Senior Design Manager for Zivame for the last 4 years.
