The “Sliding Bedside Table” is a resourceful invention for people dwelling in small apartments. Adding a sliding function to this bedside table, which makes it a handhold for all purposes and serves modern needs, is the brainchild of Pragya’s design. This project aimed to work on space conservation while offering several functionalities. Sliding parts reveal hidden features and compartments that let us be customised to our user’s needs, allowing for extra storage and workspace or the integration of technology such as wireless charging; it adapts to a variety of uses with a simple push or pull.

The “Sliding Bedside Table” is designed on the basic theme of functionality and futuristic design combined to provide facilities for space optimisation and maximum convenience to the user. Living spaces are becoming very compact and technology-driven. Hence, this piece depicts a step ahead in furniture adaptable solutions. The sliding feature has been designed to change it from a traditional bedside table into a more dynamic furniture solution with integrated functionalities.

The selection of warm woods like walnuts and cool alternatives like bamboo brings beauty and strength to the Sliding Bedside Table material selection. Hardware and possible charging station accents will be provided in sleek metal finishes like brushed nickel. For hidden compartments or pull-out trays, a stain-resistant canvas material will be used. Options for a high-gloss or textured laminate surface of the table add to this area, along with miniature samples of LED lights or wireless charging pads, exemplifying the table’s modern functionality.

Long story short, this bedside table by Pragya Srivastava is way more of a furniture unit; it peeps into compact living in the future. By marrying innovative design with practical features, it allows a view into how furniture may evolve to accommodate the modern way of life. This response not only solves the challenge of living in small spaces but also brings added functionality and style to everyday furniture.
