SKINCARE OVER MAKEUP

Skincare over makeup is what everyone during the 2021 quarantine were focusing on, and is safe to say are still focusing on. When facemasks became mandatory and work from home was implemented, there was no room for makeup, no necessity. On the other hand, the focus went on to taking care of oneself and their skin. To have flawless skin is what everyone aims towards, but how can one achieve it? Here are some skincare routines or steps that can help you achieve the same:

STEP 1: CLEANSINGSKINCARE OVER MAKEUP skincare - Cleanser - SKINCARE OVER MAKEUP

Using cleansers is a default step in our everyday routine. There are many cleansers available in the market, but not every product will suit your skin. Before you go out looking for a cleanser, it is important to make sure you know your skin type i.e., whether you have dry skin or oily skin. If you are someone with combination skin, then you must make sure the product you use has the ingredient ‘Vitamin C’ which is an antioxidant that promotes collagen growth and will brighten your skin tone.

STEP 2: TONERSKINCARE OVER MAKEUP skincare - Toner - SKINCARE OVER MAKEUP

Why do we use a toner after cleansing our faces? A toner helps remove any dirt or product on your face that the cleanser did not remove. Sometimes, the product build-up after makeup or any dirt on your face will not be all removed by a cleanser, but the toner will do the job post cleansing.  Rose water can also be used as a natural toner.

STEP 3: SERUM    SKINCARE OVER MAKEUP skincare - Face Serum - SKINCARE OVER MAKEUP

A face serum is used to amp up your skincare routine with a more powerful dose of active ingredients than a cleanser or moisturizer. It is designed to nourish, protect and hydrate your skin after cleansing, toning, and before moisturizing. Similar to cleansers, when choosing serums it is important to choose according to your skin type for the best results. A vitamin C serum can be used for all skin types.

STEP 4: EYE CREAMSKINCARE OVER MAKEUP skincare - Eye cream - SKINCARE OVER MAKEUP

Almost 95% of the working population has dark circles and puffy eyes. We all know the reason behind it, but what is the solution? (smallhandsbigart.com) An eye cream. Picking out the perfect eye cream to suit your condition, be it dark circles or puffy eyes can really make a huge difference. When shopping for eye creams, keep a look out for barrier repairing oils such as jojoba oil and sunflower oil along with vitamin C and vitamin K which help with reducing dark circle pigmentation.

STEP 5: MOISTURIZERSKINCARE OVER MAKEUP skincare - Moisturizer 1 1 - SKINCARE OVER MAKEUP

Applying moisturizer after serum, helps lock all the products in place and keep your skin hydrated throughout the day. Again, choosing your moisturizer according to your skin type is important. If you are someone with oily skin and choose a moisturizer that is oil based, then it will only leave your skin looking greasy. For oily skin, it is best to avoid ingredients such as petrolatum and miner oils.

Skincare routines can be done before applying makeup or at the end of the day to pamper your skin and cleanse it from the pollution and dirt. Flawless skin does necessarily mean healthy skin. You can have healthy skin, and still have a pimple that pops up. Healthy skin means having clean, hygienic and hydrated skin.
