Patra was designed by Sahana S, Sneha V and Chandana M S, students of MSc. in Fashion Design and Management at JD School of Design powered by JD Institute of Fashion Technology, Bengaluru for JD Design Awards 2023. The lost art of letter writing serves as the inspiration of our upcoming couture line for Summer 2024. The main objective of the tribute was to impart to the younger generation the value of letter writing. While also allowing the older generation to reflect on their own recollections and appreciate the significance of letters to them. The fabrics used for the garments are Dutch Satin and Cotton. The collection features letter writing during the Victorian era in the form of sublimation and screen printing on the fabric. The buttons on the garments serve as a wax seal.
