October Festivities at JD Institute of Fashion Technology were all about Diwali, Navratri celebrations, and meaningful campaigns. Read on to learn about all the interesting events that happened. 

Pinktober: Breast Cancer Awareness JD Institute went to Pinktober, where the students experienced firsthand the enormity of breast cancer awareness. A call for early detection and scheduled check-ups led to workshops, discussions, and advocacy; a community came together to recognise hope and support breast cancer patients.

Empowering Minds: A Well-Being Seminar with Dr Kavita Desai ID ID is a fervent witness to the implications of mental well-being, and to increase this positivity, the institute conducted a seminar on well-being by Dr Kavita Desai, a specialist in homoeopathy, psychology, and hypnotherapy. Participants in this seminar have discussed several techniques from stress management and self-care in mindfulness practices. The two practical techniques of deep breathing and progressive muscle relaxation empowered the students in handling academic pressures and keeping their mental well-being in check.

Garba Extravaganza: Navratri Celebrations JD Institute welcomed the celebration of Navratri with much fanfare by celebrating it with a night of garba on 9th October 2024. There was a session telling stories about the festival first and then a very calm Saraswati Pooja.  The entire campus danced to the beats of claps, moved about within the colourful whirls, and radiated its radiant colourful, festal fashion show. All thus became an expression of excellence toward the beauty of tradition, culture, and design.

Spooky Fun: Halloween Celebration The month ended with spooky fun through a Halloween celebration. Students decorated themselves in all kinds of creative costumes, and the campus became a wonderland of spook and fantasy. It was a great time when all creativity was reflected through elaborate makeup, fashion, and decorations.

Gyan Utsav: NGOs Initiative JD Institute’s students engaged themselves with social responsibility through Gyan Utsav-an initiative by a local education NGO for underprivileged children. The event mainly focused on spreading knowledge and giving back to the society-that let JD Institute reflect the power of social causes.
