Integrated Development Trust

Integrated Development Trust, The students of Jewellery Design Department of JD INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL OF DESIGN(JDIDS) visited Integrated Development Trust to understand the in-depth meaning of sustainability and ethical usage of resources. They learned about techniques of creating bead jewelry, macramé, paper mache and jute products. The products are made with minimal resources available and are eco-friendly as the components used in making these products are biodegradable. It was an enriching experience for the students as they acquired comprehensive knowledge through the intensive workshop.

Integrated Development Trust is an N.G.O. which is giving support, formation, and work to Indian disadvantaged women from rural areas of Anantapur District, Andhra Pradesh.

In 2001, the first workshop was founded in order to give support to the local women against discrimination, to allow their emancipation and empowerment, as well as to offer to many of them a residency and to cover their daily expenses or making sure that their homes are in good conditions to produce from home. In addition, all of them are receiving basic education, medical supervision, tools for their integration and a full-time job with continuous training programs.

Nowadays, the program serves six different workshops, giving this great chance to more than 250 women. They are specialized in:

  1. Textile crafts
  2. Fashion jewelry
  3. Jute products
  4. Paper conversion (paper mache and other techniques)
  5. Manufactured recycled paper
  6. Eco crafts (Beetle Tree dry leaves)

Their wide range of products includes bags, purses, cloth, belts, scarves, earrings, necklaces, bracelets, stationary, games, home decoration, Christmas decoration, etc.
