Module End Display: Diploma in Interior Design, Batch of 2024
Module End Display of the Diploma in Interior Design, batch of 2024 of JD Institute od Fashion Technology is the culmination of a striking testament to the student’s journey and evolution throughout the course. The end exhibition is a very telling testimony of the student journey and changes within the course. Exhibited here are works developed through various modules of design reflecting holistic learning experiences of creativity, technical competence, and critical thinking.
From the Drafting module, the students have provided excellent technical accuracy. Their architectural plans, sections, and elevations can communicate intricate designs with precision and accurate drawings. These works reflect the truth that clear design expression is necessary and provide a solid groundwork for further developed architectural and interior design projects.
Shift through Design Thinking is toward human-centered problem-solving. In the present assignments, students have chosen real problems from real life. Innovations come through a process that focuses on empathy, ideation, and prototyping in an iterative manner. This way these projects are creative but at the same time practical because they show how careful design might directly serve the needs of the users.
For example, the module of the Design Foundation revolves around some basic aspects, such as form, color, and composition. All these works from students impress one with their in-depth understanding, especially through sights based on expressive designs that are balanced, contrasting, and textured. Great for the growth of aesthetic sensibilities, indeed, these well-structured projects on display have come into being.
Space Design has allowed learners to turn abstract knowledge into a productive and aesthetically pleasing environment. Hence, most of their projects are either residential or commercial environments, showing sound planning in spaces, arrangement of furniture, and types of material selected. The projects show great attention to detail as well as to the sensitivities of how one might use the space for satisfaction.
The third major module-by-module change on campus has been driven by the Material Sourcing module. There, the students have selected material palettes that may be aesthetically pleasing but are also robust, sustainable, and efficient. Their selections demonstrate a good handle on the design process in real life and point to the ways that material selections can influence form and function.
Further proof of technical capability is also indicated through the AutoCAD presentations. Students’ success in generating the correct 2D and 3D architectural drawings using this critical software will demonstrate their understanding of the technical principles involved in design. The drawings are the starting point for their designs; expressions of ideas that are presented in a technical manner in the form of professional presentation.
The SketchUp & Vray is the final stage where students will see all the designs take life via realistic 3D visualization. This is a much-detailed product regarding lighting, texture, and fine details to create immersive and photorealistic depictions of the students’ designed spaces. The result would be quite highly professional in presentation; the viewer will get a virtual experience of the students’ design concepts.
The works on display of these modules depict a growth in each student as an aspiring designer. The exhibition, thereby, also points to their capacity to merge theory with real-life application, considering the aesthetic and functional factors that make up a design.
The batch of 2024 at JD Institute of Fashion Technology have truly impressed us with their creativity, technical skills, and commitment to design excellence.
