Inspired by Mario Miranda’s depiction of everyday life, the young designer implemented the artist’s drawing style and produced her own interpretation of his art.

Mario’s signature paintings had a squared-off, calm aspect that inferred aspirations beyond the fleeting smile that most of his cartoons elicit. He produced a wide variety of works with a unified melody and mood; his backdrops were never overdone; instead, they were always simple and endearing. He also pushed an impressionist enthusiasm with a zing into the foreground. Along with cartooning, Mario also painted murals that can be seen on several buildings in Goa and other regions of India.

Siddhi brought Mario Miranda’s work to life through her summer wear collection. The fabrics used for the garments were cotton with hand printing technique and acrylic colours and buttons out of cotton fabric.
