KitschKaari is an Autumn winter womenswear collection rich in its elements derived from the art and architecture of Rajasthan. Fusing the elements such as traditional block printing and gota embroidery, the collection has focused on redefining kitsch by culminating these art forms.  Emphasizing on innovation and sustainability, the designers have replaced the traditional Polyester film with pure silk in gota embroidery and used only environmental friendly vegetable dyes for block printing. The block printing and gota embroidery have been done on leftover fabrics from garment factories to create a patchwork look. The primary fabric used for all the garments is raw silk. The concept is traditional yet westernized. The collection is presented by Durga Gokul, Priya Lakshman and Samyuktha Shivakumar from the Weekend Diploma Batch.
