The Jewellery show of 2021 had multiple masterpieces, statement couture jewelleries for men and women to adorn. The cameo gemstone was innovatively used for both the collections. Engraved designs are carved on precious stones and the shirt button. The antique finish on gold is achieved through polish which makes the black finish gold and red finish gold where Polki diamond has no definite shape. Jewellery for men’s turban called ‘Kalingi’ were represented in a broader circle where men’s accessory Pocket Knife (Used for religious and Marriage purpose) were studded with precious gemstones. Out of their busy schedule and presentation few of the jewellery designers have personally interacted in brief with the students apart from showcasing their jewellery. They share immense knowledge with the students.
The Sphere Jewellery Boutique from Gujarat shared their knowledge on design thinking and the process of creating a jewellery collection very clearly with their set of jewellery pieces. Mr. Manish Mehta, who is currently in the senior most position of the jewellery boutique, was overwhelmed on seeing the interest shown by the young aspiring jewellery designers and their motivation to expand their knowledge. His emotions took him back to his young aspiring age, when he had learned from scratch with his grandfather who mentored him through the process to guide his interest in Jewellery Designing. Their belief and practice is in creating a full set of jewellery after a great amount of research in what the targeted market wants which includes 1 selected inspiration converted into 2 different types of necklace, earrings, rings, handcuffs, bracelets and pendants. Thus, keeping in mind the young generation and their preferences, jewelleries are made exclusively and to keep the demand on they don’t repeat the pieces once produced. Their types of jewellery includes more of Western country style wiring , technique of enamelling , Metal finishes like Matte , satin with a very sleek and classy look. Metal collar necklace was inspired by Scotland flower garden was the attraction over their store.
Asscher Cut Diamond with extra customised steps were exhibited by Nikhar Jewellers. Mr. Abhishek from Nikhar Jewellers had an interactive session with the Jewellery students of our Institute and had made our students understand about their newly introduced many diamonds together stringed as a hanging with minimal visibility of metal. Men’s Shirt button with extra security lock with a slider mechanism was very interestingly manufactured.
The M P Swarnamahal, Bengaluru has introduced a new huge wedding collection and have made it very clear with their exclusive technicality and mechanism. Their point of view for their clients is comfort with the long lasting creative designs. Thus the collection they launch will have the creative thinking behind the design story always.
The Kalasha Jewellery , Hyderabad has exhibited a Gandaberunda (2 headed bird with single body believed to be a protector and evil’s eye in Indian mythology) Pendant with its amazing multi functionality where The pendent can be worn both the ways one side will be with Its skilful Closed gemstone setting but the other side is openable with a door like functionality and it represents a Temple Jewellery storyline once the door gets opened.
Thewa Jewellery by Sunil Jewellers have been keeping the Heritage craftsmanship in front of the world for more than 6 decades where the Gold foil gets fused with the glass together with a special technique. They have been very cooperative while explaining the jewellery students about their techniques of Thewa, resources and how their Ancient Heritage designs varies with the GI tag in Pratapgarh than others also asked the institute students to visit their workshop for better understanding. In Fact they have mentioned how the change in resource of the Belgium coloured glass since 1950 to 1990 switched to the better form of American coloured glass.
Ascher Jewels pvt. Ltd. Bengaluru has been amazing with its specially designed pieces and experimented with all the different colours of gemstone which includes the rare Yellow Diamonds as well. They are quite different from other boutique jewellery houses while using the Special Tourmaline carved gemstones, Amethyst tear drops, Tahitian Pearls, Mother of Pearls, Rubellites, Onyx, Chalcedony, Aquamarine and Tanzanites.
