JEWELLERY DESIGN STUDENTS EXHIBIT THEIR CRAFT AND DESIGN
The Jewellery design programme at JD Institute covers topics which are essential to become a successful jewellery designer, including designing a piece of jewellery from a concept, design sketches and understanding the challenges when it comes to manufacturing. One of the objectives of this course is to qualify the student’s every aspect of work, not only including research and creation but also networking and exhibiting.
Recently JD Institute of Fashion Technology presented an overview of work by the department of jewellery where the students showcased their foundation sketches along with few prototypes based on their understanding of elements and principles of design. The main idea behind this project was to let students understand the design concepts and the feasibility and execution of designs. The display reflected sustainable jewellery as the students showcased their creativity and unique ideas by using scrap materials like leftover threads, waste fabrics, stones, mirrors etc. It was fascinating to see how each student approached the brief and developed their own jewellery range.
All the attendees appreciated the hard work put in by the students and their mentor, Ms Surbhi Gupta. Mr Pramod Adhikari (mentor at JD Institute) was also present at the exhibition to witness the creativity of the students and to share his inputs on the same.
