Jediiians visit Bangalore Knits Pvt Ltd

JD Institute of Fashion Technology constantly strives for holistic education by giving students a practical experience of what they study in classrooms. One such endeavour was the visit to Bangalore Knits Pvt Ltd.

Bangalore Knits Pvt Ltd established in 1990 is a leading Manufacturer and Supplier of readymade garments, T-shirts, Knitwear and kids wear.  Located in Bangalore, Karnataka the company is one of the best sellers of the listed products.

Jediiians visited all the departments of the factory, starting with the embroidery section. They witnessed all their embroideries which are done with the help of software.  Quality Manager, Mr Narendra explained in detail, about patch works, motif designs, and logo embroidery.

Followed by they explored the garment construction section, where the guide showed them each process in detail. The students observed how each of the processes is important starting from choosing the fabric, to washing, cutting and quality control.

They also came across the segment called KANBAN – The final cut bundles go to this area where it gets collected in specific departments so that when in need a person can easily find it. It is also known as a supermarket.

Students also witnessed the process of stitching. They came across various machines used for single stitch, overlock, flatlock, etc. After every stitching machine, there was a defect tester machine to check the defect marks and measurements.

Once the garments are manufactured, they are rechecked, ironed and packed according to the concerned brand names. The visit was an extremely productive one for the students of Bsc in Fashion and Apparel Design Batch. It helped them bridge the gap between theoretical study and practical work scenario in manufacturing units.
