Jediiians Celebrated International Mother Language Day

International Mother Language day is celebrated every year to build awareness of the importance of language diversity and its preservation. It is a day to recognize the value that individual languages contribute to society and humanity. It is a moment for all of us to raise the flag for the importance of LANGUAGE to all educational efforts, to enhance the quality of learning and to reach the unreached.

JD Institute of Fashion Technology celebrated the International Mother Language day on March 1st, 2019 at Brigade campus. The Institute has students from all cultures and diversity who came out in good number and celebrated languages they speak.

The event started with a warm welcome speech and lighting of the lamp by our dignitaries Ms. Sandra Sequeria (Director South) Mr. Pramod Adhikari (Mentor at JD Institute), Ms. Suma Satish (Academics in-charge), and Principal Mr. Babu Rajendra Prasad.

Later the event continued with a prayer song and the State Anthem. Students from Fashion Design course, Interior Design course, Fashion communication course performed various classical and regional dances.  They had put up various activities like poetry and skits. The major highlight of the event was the skit which depicted the Pulwama attack, giving respect to all the martyrs.

The faculties too celebrated this day with some Hindi Shayari and Jana Pada song.

The day ended with an interactive quiz and an energetic colorful dance performance by the students from Bsc in Fashion Design.

These kinds of activities help our students not just to understand the culture and traditions of another state but also gives them a new experience understanding their fellow JEDIIIANS.
