JD’s top 13 red carpet looks of Golden Globes 2018
Black was the colour which dominated the 2018 Golden Globe Awards. The winners and others turned up in black as a support to the Time Up movement (The movement founded Hollywood stars in response to the Harvey Weinstein sexual harassment case) showing solidarity with the victims of sexual assault and as a mark of protest for the unequal treatment and repeated harassment of women in the Industry. India too shinned in the golden globes, Meher Tatna, the president of Hollywood Foreign Press Association wore red with time up the pin and quoted “its Indian culture where red will have worn during celebrations while black is reserved for mourning and widows”. In other words, it was the night of “Empowerment through Empathy”. The night was filled with laughter, happiness, glitz, glamour, mind-blowing speeches but the message was conveyed strongly, very loud and clear with #metoos.
