JD Sports Day Outdoor has the sound of cheers and the joy may have faded, but the memories of doubtlessness continued to bleach. Held on Wednesday, April 17th, and Thursday, April 18th at St. John’s Grounds, the aftermath was a resounding success, showcasing gymnastic prowess, fostering camaraderie, and leaving everyone yearning for more.

Two Days of Triumph:

Over the course of two action-packed days, the sprawling manifest of St. John witnessed a spectacle of athleticism. From the electrifying tail and correction events to the strategic squad sports, Jediiians poured their hearts and souls into complete competition. The 100m, 200m, and 400m races were a testament to raw speed and endurance; the shortcut, high jump, and throw competitions showcased notable displays of ability and precision. 

Let us have a look at the triumphant sports day at JD Institute of Fashion Technology

The JD Sports Meet – Outdoor was held on 17th and 18th April 2024 at St. John’s Medical College Grounds, Madiwala in between 08:00 am – 04:30 pm. The Chief Guest Mr. Neelesh Dalal (MD JD Institute of Fashion Technology), arrived at the venue to commemorate the sports event. The event started and it was a combination of zeal and joy. 

Day 1

• Outdoor Sports: Students

Athletics 

Running 100 metres (men and women): The thrill of adrenaline is the highest for a 100-metre race and our students gave their best on the track. The qualifier round ended with deserving candidates in the men and women categories winning. 

Group Outdoor Sports: JDI students have quite the league for sportsmanship and zeal to participate in many outdoor sports. And we had quite a few hidden gems of our own. 

Cricket (women): While everyone awaited for men to walk into the grounds and pitch with bats and pads on the ground, we had our JD Institute of Fashion Technology women show their talent in cricket. It was definitely a fun and glorious match to see.  

Football (men): Students at JDI know their strengths and how to build a team and work together with them, just like they do it in football! It was played around with our JDI men’s team.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                

Football (women): Yes, the women’s team played football, and they performed just as well as the men’s team did. The match was a fabulous treat to the eyes and a wave of excitement ran across St. John’s Field. 

Day 2

• Outdoor Sports: Students: 

Well, it was day 2 and the outdoor sports made everyone happy with the previous day’s matches. Now it was time for the final rounds and then the awards. Day 1 was the curtain-raiser for the upcoming sports events. 

 Athletics

Running 100 metres (men) and 100 metres (women): Both men and women competed in the final round. And we finally had our winners towards the end of the race. 

Running 200m (men & women): 200-metre race was also getting its participants to participate with a sportsman spirit. The race ended with two qualified winner.

Group Outdoor Sports 

Throwball (Women): Throwball in the women’s category gained the attention of the entire crowd. The swift and slick hit the ball without letting it fall down on either side of the court.

Volleyball (Men): The classic volleyball! The men of the JD Institute of Fashion Technology had a grand presentation of their hand-eye coordination and perfection in the field. 

Volleyball (Women): The women of JDI were no less skilled in presenting their power on the ground. They were phenomenal and we had a perfect winning match.  

• Outdoor Sports: Faculties

Athletics

Running 100m (men & women): The 100-metre running race for our lovely faculties was nothing but fun and enthusiastic. Seeing their faculties run and win was truly a grand scene for the students. 

Running 200m (Men): Men from JDI faculty had their 200-metre race and it went off to be the most enthusiastic event of the day! 

Shot put, Long Jump and Discus throw (men and women): Our faculties were less sporty than our students. Their participation in these events showed that keeping yourself on your toes at any age is always great. And that is what everyone witnessed!

Group Outdoor Sports

Cricket: Faculty members of JDI had there grand play of cricket and it was nothing less than fun. 

Throwball Finals: The final round of throwball was a great success and very eventful for everybody. 

Volleyball: Volleyball was the last event that took place among the participants and this brought closure to the entire evening. 

Teamwork Makes the Dream Work: 

The accuracy of the games lies in the exhilarating squad sports. Whether it was the strategic manoeuvres on the football pitch, the coordinated rallies in volleyball, or the cooperative plays in throwball and cricket, Jediiians demonstrated the ability of teamwork and camaraderie. The cheers of content from associate students and the auxiliary comportment of stave members on the sidelines entirely amplified the experience of heretical and sportsmanship.

A Night to Remember: 

The closing of the aftermath was a night filled with pride and celebration. The honoured torch-bearing observance served as a fitting shelter to the animation of the games. The Lordly Prize Dispersion Observance recognised the champions and celebrated the outstanding performances of all participants.

Beyond the victories:

The JD Sports Day Outdoor was more than a reign for bragging rights. It was a choline for Jediiians to grow quantitative natural skills. The JD Institute’s commitment to fostering well-rounded growth was evident in the animation of sportsmanship, the magnificence of teamwork, and the unwavering conclusion displayed during the entire nuptial. 

A Legacy of Camaraderie:

As the curtains closed on the JD Sports Day Outdoor, it unexpended a bequest of camaraderie, perseverance, and a renewed experience of belonging inside the JD Institute community.

The memories forged on the field as well as the lessons learned from competition, and the bonds strengthened finished shared experiences doubtless continued to vibrate indestructible after the last whistling had blown for the JD Sports Day.
