JD INSTITUTE BRINGING THE BEST VERSION OF DESIGN AT BANGALORE TIMES FASHION WEEK- WINTER FESTIVE EDIT
JD Institute of Fashion Technology was the Education Partner at the recently concluded 5th Edition of Bangalore Times Fashion Week – Festive Winter Edit on 18th and 19th October 2019 at Sheraton Grand, Bangalore.
The collections were an eclectic mix of ethnic, indo-western, intricate detailing, to beach ready along with a burst of colour and drama which highlighted the craftsmanship and sheer creative genius of the designer line-up that included fashion’s genius – Mr. Rohit Bal, designer duo Abraham and Thakore, Mr. Rajesh Pratap Singh, Mr. Rakesh Dembla, Ms. Aviva Bidapa etc. Sharing stage with these fine doyens of the fashion industry were four talented alumni from JD Institute – Ms. Anamika Jaisinghani, Ms. Ros Anto Parekkattil, Ms. Chandana M and Mr. Tejas N.
The JD segment was front lined by Ms. Anamika Jaisinghani’s collection Aeternum, that redefined the timeless sixties fashion classics for the modern woman of today. The designer also practiced minimal-to-zero waste route and also incorporated the use of non-violent silk, sequins and bamboo silk.
Ms. Ros Anto Parekkattil showcased Solasta, a line of contemporary bridal wear that featured natural stones and pearls which stood out due to its striking colour combination of rose, off white and champagne.
Sasvata, by Ms. Chandana M was a line of ethnic evening wear created by using organic cotton fabric and art deco geometrical shapes sequence.
Mr. Tejas N. took inspiration from the “X-ray Art” created by Dutch physicist Arievan’t Riet in 1900s for his collection Bioramas, a line of resort wear. The garments of the collection have been created using UV protective and recycled plastic.
Being the pioneer in the field of Art and Design, the Institute seeks to create partnerships to help foster young talents and create pathways to help students present their work at prestigious events.
