Artist Arun Desai is a child artist inspired by his Mother’s hobbies of sewing and embroidery, also he is a Paper Engineer by Profession. Having done Masters in Mathematics, it helps him in precision while working with paper which gives him a sense of being accurate while folding and cutting paper. He also is a famous visual merchandiser. One of his works has been inspired by the Venetian Carnival which he has completely recreated with paper masks. The designers have used this in their product by incorporating the mask directly and indirectly to hide the social status and identity of the wearer by creating a false impression. Materials used are mostly paper, wood, leather and also filigree of the mask on the frames as a design element. The designers have tried to achieve linearity in the store space designed.
