Imagination Journey to Hyderabad – Learn History, Culture, and Innovation
Imagination Journey to Hyderabad- The vibrant capital of Telangana means more to its acclaim in technology and historical sites – Hyderabad is a city where culture and art flow through every other corner. The students from JD Institute of Fashion Technology had a Imagination Journey to Hyderabad, full of experiences, loads of learning, and exploration – loads of fun accompanying them all the way. From the forward-thinking IGBC Green Business Centre to the majestic Golkonda Fort and the busy streets around Charminar, every moment was a thrilling blend of education and inspiration.
Green Architecture and Cultural Craft
IGBC Green Business Centre
We start our journey from IGBC-Indian Green Building Council’s Green Business Centre, as an example of completely green architecture and design. Being one of the world’s greenest buildings, it was an eye-opener for our students to learn how technology meets environmental responsibility.
The latest trends in green building have been reflected through some beautiful interactive exhibits. AR Ayesha is a phenomenal speaker and one of the leading voices in sustainable architecture, and through inspiring words, has motivated students to integrate eco-friendly practices in their designs before they start living them. The final culmination concluded with Mr M Anand presenting certificates to the students for their commitment to sustainability. That impactful experience started conversations on how design can shape a greener future.
Shilparamam: The Festival of Indian Crafts
Shilparamam was our next destination and is, in fact, a cultural village set amidst 65 acres of Indian art and craftsmanship. We landed during Navratri, and the gaiety was alive with celebrations, traditional dance performances, craft exhibitions and stalls brimming over with handcrafted goods.
Intricately designed textiles, wooden carvings, and handmade craftsmanship reverberate with tales of heritage from yesteryear and the times of glory-thus, each was a living story. The interactions with artisans bridged the gap between age-old craftsmanship and modern design thinking. The colour lesson in art, culture, and sustainability was hands-on.
Historical Wonders of Hyderabad
Golkonda Fort: The Acoustic Wonder
Day two took us back into the history books at the iconic Golkonda Fort. Spread over 120 acres, this massive structure left everyone in awe. Golkonda Fort had once been the capital of the Golconda Sultanate, and talking about Hyderabad’s glorious past is a testament to that.
One of the most interesting attractions about the fort is that it has an acoustic design. A clap by the entrance can be heard from the very top of the fort; this is a testament to the ingenuity of architecture during those times. The students experimented with this acoustic phenomenon, getting an intense appreciation of synergy between history and science.
Charminar: Hyderabad’s Jewel
No visit to Hyderabad will ever be complete without seeing the very iconic Charminar. Dating back to 1591, this glorious monument stands as a mark of the city’s endurance and beauty. The students were really thrilled at the symmetry of arches, the intricacy of detail, and the majesty of Indo-Islamic architecture.
A booming market with paintings and craftwork as well as street food that is local to the place surrounds Charminar, and it has high energy. The students came across a first-hand experience of the influence of traditional crafts on modern design practices while navigating through the very thin lanes.
Design Democracy 2024: Innovation Platform
Design Democracy 2024 was spread over an extensive 50,000 square feet area. Among this emphasis, the visit focused on the meeting of designers, architects, and students from all disciplines for project showcases, exchanged ideas, and collaborated in innovation.
It gave the young stars JD Institute of Fashion Technology to meet the creators of this industry, to present their creations, and receive precious feedback from professionals. It was more than a platform-it was the first step for those minds that would be pushing the extents of design, while instigating new materials and philosophies, and get inspired by the future of the world of design.
An imagination journey of learning and memories
Our imagination journey to Hyderabad was a perfect mosaic of learnings and fun. We got insight into sustainable architecture at IGBC; we had the feel of the rich, so-called Golkonda Fort and Charminar history; each day was an adventure: Craft Village Shilparamam’s vivid crafts, and Design Democracy 2024’s think-tanking platform opened the doors of learning beyond classrooms, where history, culture, and innovation converged.
It is through these common experiences, laughter, and sudden discoveries that it remains special. Hyderabad was more a path than a destination; in the mind and heart, it was to be a journey that would enrich them.
