Hettich at JD Institute: Interior Design Department

Aspiring interior designers of JD Institute were introduced to Hettich, the manufacturers of interior fittings by Mr.Reddy on 5th of October 2018, to enhance and give a new dimension to the learning of interior designing.

The Interior Design course at JD Institute of Fashion Technology grants various opportunities for students to explore store visits and informative talk sessions by key brands. These visits help them to understand the industry better.

Hettich, a German-based company, is the largest manufacturer of furniture fittings in the world and has a global presence. The main manufacturing unit in India is located in Ahmedabad. It has many application centres, manufacturing units, and warehouses spread across India.

The main focus of Hettich is on quality and innovation which has led to the production of interior fittings. The production includes hinges, channels, sliding systems, drawer systems, etc.

‘Trends in furniture design’ is the main focus of Hettich. The types of furniture are ergonomic and are designed to meet the individual tastes and requirements. The fittings are technologically advanced with smoothest running action and soft closing. The hinges are architectural with perfect running action and are of fine quality.

The furniture assembly is so simple that it doesn’t need an expert to install it. It can be installed easily by the customers itself. This excellent quality has led to the success of the company which is now working with a turnover of 1.3B USD.

Learning about Hettich, the award-winning company was an added advantage to the interior designing students which helped them to learn more about the application of technology in interior design and how to make the products more user-friendly.
