Golden Ratio is a mathematical principle that can be found in elements all around us like nature, colour and even sound waves. Also known as, The Golden Section, Golden Mean, or ‘phi’ (the Greek letter) – the Golden Ratio in the creation of beautiful, perfectly balanced designs that present an aesthetically pleasing visual which appeals at a deep intellectual level. The perfect example is the drawing of The Vitruvian Man and the Mona Lisa painting by Leonardo da Vinci.
The Golden Ratio also known as The Divine Proportion is the culmination of a number that is derived when two quantities are divided in a way that their ratio is the same as the ratio of their sum to one greater of the two quantities. The number is 1:1.618 which itself is derived from the Fibonacci sequence, found from the number of leaves on a tree to the spiral shape of a seashell. It can also be found in famous art works and architecture and even on our own faces.
