JD Institute of Fashion Technology, Bangalore organised a Convocation Ceremony for their B.sc in Fashion and Apparel Design and B.sc in Interior Design students on September 4^th, 2019 at The Rotary Club, Bangalore. On this auspicious day, Dr. Ninge Gowda, Chairman of Apparel and Textiles; Former Special Officer for Higher Education, Government of India and Former Registrar of Bangalore University was the Guest of Honour.

The Ceremony was presided by the Management team – Mr. Nealesh Dalal, Managing Trustee – JD Educational Trust; Ms. Sandra Sequeira, Director – South; Mr. Pramod Adhikari, Mentor and Mr. Babu Rajendra Prasad, Principal at JdD along with our Chief Guest to felicitate our students.

Dr. Gowda, with his years of association in the educational industry enlightened our students with his knowledge. He laid the emphasis on how the youth of today are tomorrows change makers and with the opportunities available, encouraged them to resort to making use of organic and non-toxic raw materials. This practice would lead to the creation of more employment opportunities to the farmers of our country. Dr. Gowda also stressed on the need to constantly carry out research and innovation. He further stated that fashion is the second largest employer after agriculture.

He congratulated each and every student for their hard work and the mentors who have moulded them to be successful designers and innovators. Bangalore University is known to be one of the largest universities in Asia and the Institute is proud to be affiliated with the university for their Bsc. in Fashion and Interior courses.

A convocation ceremony is a right passage for students that portrays their transition from student life to a new phase in their life. Hence, witnessing this day in the life of their students makes the faculties and management chest soar with pride. The excitement of the students was evident when they came up on stage to collect their certificates. They were then led to take their convocation pledge, wherein they vouched to uphold the values and dignity of their profession.

The flipping of the cap by the graduate students who were cheered by their faculties, management and parents, marked an end of the ceremony.
