Gallimaufry – The sophisticated red carpet look by JD Institute Of Fashion Technology

Bangalore had its own Met Gala hosted by All Ladies League on August 7th at the Ritz Carlton. JD Institute of Fashion Technology – Bangalore was associated with the event and exclusively designed and styled a look named Gallimaufry for Mrs. Renu Suresh. The Asymmetrical contemporary dress, designed by Shrishti Jaiswal, on behalf of JD Institute of Fashion Technology was inspired by her muse Mrs. Renu, a scholar, who was married off at a young age and exemplified the traits of a modern woman.

The sophisticated red carpet look of the garment blended well with the body type and age of the client. The black color of the dress represented strength, authority, sophistication, and elegance and the fabric harnessed sustainability and zero wastage, wherein the outfit was created from an old table runner and a 25-year-old sari.

The black, hand-embroidered sari was converted into an asymmetrical dress and the beige table runner added softness and style to the look. The long sleeve was made out of net fabric to add exaggeration and also a pant was created to be worn over the sari dress to complete the look. Accessories from the brand Begada were used to add to the styling aspect of the outfit and the handcrafted, innovative and modern designs jewelry added glamour to the entire look. The ear cuffs added sparkle whereas the statement ring made innovatively curated by Begada team gave a bold definition to the hands as well.
