Fuso Straordinario: Tribute to Elsa Schiaparelli
Aloysia Ana Nunes from BSc. in Fashion and Apparel Design from JD School of Design, Goa designed, ‘Fuso Straordinario,’ which paid homage to Italian fashion designer Elsa Schiaparelli. From the 1930s until the 1950s, she mostly created surrealist and unusual clothing. Her creations exemplify a self-assured collection that celebrates the originality and uniqueness of each person and lets them shine like stars that remain in the sky.
The avant-garde garments form a part of the collection reflect the young designer’s individuality and personality which represents her extroverted nature.
The designer made use of materials like lachka, 3D printing, beads, tissue, fabric like wedding satin and net fabric, as well as threads and canvas for rigidity. Her creations reflect a person’s inner nature and character since Elsa served as her inspiration. She enhanced her work using beading, 3D printing, and spiral ruffles.
Because 3D printing is environmentally safe and biodegradable, she employed it as a sustainable practise. Aloysia came up with the economical and original concept of employing this technique as an alternative because Elsa utilised metal.
The primary hues of the collection were black, white, and gold. She desired an appearance that was both dramatic and beautiful, that brought out the elegance and richness of the garments.
Fuso Straordinario is a collection that beautifully showcases work that is highly inspirational and delves into the designer’s imagination to present something that is creative. Aloysia’s depiction showcases eccentricity and distinctiveness.
“I believe in uniqueness and want to be unique.”
