The Memphis Movement started by a group of architects, is characterized by bright colours and asymmetrical shapes. The collection Edgy Kitsch takes its inspiration from this movement, incorporating bold colours and edgy silhouettes. The silhouettes of the garments are highlighted with pleats, panels and patches. Rejected and defected fabrics from the industry have been used to create this collection that are detailed with modernized traditional hand embroideries. The collection mixes a variety of fabrics but still looks balanced with an anti-fashion, kitsch factor that is accentuated by a retro-glam element. The collection is presented by Kajal K.Bhansali, Preksha Jain & Jamshid Khalid from the October Diploma Batch.
