Designer Shejim P’s collection, Eden 88 is a species of rose voted as the World’s Favorite Rose by the World Federation of Rose Societies in 2006. The rose was named after the French poet, Pierre de Ronsard, a name that has various meanings in France, however, since the meanings are not the same in other countries it was changed to “Eden Rose”, “Eden Climber” to represent the idea of paradise created due to its exceptional beauty. The collection was inspired by the paintings of Frans Mortelmans especially his rose flower paintings and is a line of men’s occasion wear.
Frans Mortelmans is prolific Belgian painter whose work on still life and flower pieces established his reputation. Each of his paintings, on rose flowers had its own geometric arrangements and the flower itself is usually found in geometric designs. Each petals in the rose flower are arranged in the form of geometric pixels. The patterns and prints of the collection are derived from rose geometric pixilation. The geometric designs are a good example of the golden ratio which appears recurrently in beautiful things in nature, as well as in other things that are seen as beautiful.
Knit and taffeta are fabrics of choice and gives more justification to the beauty of the print and thus resulting in its elegance. These fabrics are perfect solution for a night party wear and is body fitting which makes it comfortable for the wearer.
