Redefining the ethnic outlook based on the concepts of Indian tradition, the “Dvandva ” collection is inspired by Lippan art and natural dyes. Kutch lippan art is artwork that is done in the Kutch region of India and involves distinct mirror work and clays. This way, each shirt reflects history, the arts, and, at the same time, the traditional skills of the artisans. As for the artistic motifs, the natural dyes coming from plants, fruits, and minerals unite with the vivid colours and introduce ecological friendliness. The designers have taken their time to develop pretty and loose dresses, sharp-suited and sophisticated blouses and tops coupled with trousers that mix and match the contemporary world with Lippan art in every piece.
Further, the illusion of the collection’s name, ‘Dvandva,’ applies to the Sanskrit notion that groups opposing characteristics together, reminiscent of combining the traditional and the contemporary in the pieces. Every piece is a story of succession and mastery, respect for craft with conformity to current wants: the modern woman who wants fashion and function. Qualified by fine details of Lippan artistry that adorn the pieces and natural dyes used in creating the collection, the collection of pieces transcend clothing and represents luxury with a rich story.
In an elaboration of the event’s theme, the collection named “Dvandva” features wear made of pure silk fabric that is coloured with natural resources like tea, coffee, turmeric, and madder. These natural dyes give the collection beautiful shades of pink, yellow, gold, and grey that add value as they observe the natural conservation methods. The materials used in the embroidering section are macramé threads and the cutting of mirrors, which gives the piece an ounce of sophistication and sustainability. Thus, “Dvandva” embodies opulent ‘luxury’ that is yet sustainable, in the true essence of ethnic Indian fabric.
Created with attention to quality, environmental responsibility, and creativity, “Dvandva” targets female clients who aim to include some classics in their closets. Through their cooperation in combining the elements of art from the past with modern design concepts, the collection reveals not only the desire to support the application of time-honoured traditions but also the ability to expand experimentally in the field of sustainable fashion. Manufacturing ‘diverse’ sizes is another principle of ‘Dvandva;’ guaranteeing that every woman gets apparel that fits her near-perfectly instills size inclusivity in the fashion industry. This collection is dedicated to the talented fashioners who are carrying centuries of craftsmanship in their hands and creating great opportunities for the development of a more eco-friendly and accessible fashion industry.
