About Course
Bachelor of Graphics and Communication Design is a four-year intensive program offered by the JD Institute of Fashion Technology in Bangalore centre in affiliation with Bengaluru City University. The program enables students to understand the fundamentals of graphic design through exploration of various communication tools with an emphasis on digital techniques. The program follows a pedagogy that encourages creative and critical thinking of the various methodologies that inform the practice of graphic design, encouraging them to challenge and formulate new ways of approach. The course also focuses on the analysis of various historical, cultural and social parameters that influence its practice, and also equips the students with the ability to interpret the politics of the contemporary conditions and how they affect its current practice.

- BVA in Graphic Design aims to introduce students to the versatile and evolving field of graphic design, and equips them with the skill to expand the scope and potential of its practice.
- The pedagogy of the program follows an innovative and experimental approach that instills confidence in the students to question and challenge the existing and established methodologies of its practice.
- The program emphasises on the history and the various parameters that affect its practice; the awareness of which helps the students identify influences and question the relevance, responsiveness and significance of their practice.
- Students are also introduced to the fields of user interface design, advertising, gaming, and various drawing and communication formats.
- Students also learn various skills that can be applied to print, web, digital and new media publications, catalogue production and promotional publication design as well as new media design.
- The program also focuses on developing entrepreneurial skills in order to enable students to lead a sustained creative practice.
- Along with this, various talks, seminars, workshops and internship experiences as well as opportunities for live industry projects support a holistic learning experience for the students
