COLOURED CONTACT LENSES: EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

Coloured contact lenses are a way of changing your look without having to do anything drastic and spending too much on it. Although contact lenses are an easy option to change or transform yourself, there are few things you need to look out for in order to avoid any kind of disastrous outcome such as an infection or loss of eyesight. Here is everything you need to know about colored contact lenses:COLOURED CONTACT LENSES: EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

COLORED CONTACTS ARE THE SAME AS REGULAR ONES:

There’s nothing different about colored contacts except they have color. The colored lenses have a clear counterpart with the same design and if you regularly wear contacts and are used to them, it will be easier for you to adjust to it. They last just as long as the regular ones.

THEY MIGHT BE A LITTLE UNCOMFORTABLE:

Colored contacts can be a bit thicker than regular ones so they might take a while to get used too. The positive about them being thicker is that it can be easier to put in and remove.

YOU CAN TRY COLORED CONTACTS EVEN IF YOU HAVE PERFECT VISION:

Color contacts are available in a wide range of powers. They are commonly covering the range of +6 to -8, including zero power. Although, it is recommended that you consult an ophthalmologist to either confirm your power or make sure you have a perfect vision.

YOU STILL REQUIRE A PRESCRIPTION:

Even if your colored contacts have zero power, you do still need to consult your doctor because all contacts, clear or color, are serious medical devices that can potentially damage your eyes. Different brands of contacts perform differently and need to be checked by your ophthalmologist to ensure they are the right ones for you. Once your ophthalmologist gives the contacts an okay, you will receive the prescription for them and can place an order. It is recommended to not purchase any contacts, be it colored or regular, online.

SIMILAR TO REGULAR CONTACTS, YOU SHOULD NEVER SHARE THEM WITH ANYONE:

Although colored contact lenses are just like makeup, especially if they’re zero power, it does not mean share them with anyone. Swapping eye germs can lead to eye infections as well as the contacts used by the other person may not be the right ones for you.

ANYONE CAN WEAR COLORED CONTACTS

Some people may require contacts that they can dispose of every two weeks and some others may require ones for a day’s use. Some have perfect eyes and others have an imperfection in the eye’s curvature, called astigmatism. Fortunately, there are colored contacts for pretty much everyone, though some types, such as those for astigmatism, might be more expensive.

THERE ARE DIFFERENT BRANDS TO CHOOSE FROM:

To find the perfect colored contacts, you can work along with your ophthalmologist. There are many options of colors, designs, and tints to choose from. A trial pair will be given by the doctor to make sure you are comfortable with the color.

Colored contact lenses can give you the ultimate makeover. The great thing about colored lenses is you have the freedom to wear them when you want, depending on your mood. Remember, think of these lenses like you would any other type of corrective contacts and only go to your eye doctor for a proper prescription. Colored contacts  can be complemented with the perfect makeup look. At JD Institute, the Makeup Artistry Course teaches ways to create makeup looks that not only compliment the outfits or fashion styles, but also the eye color of the individual or model.
