Chiaroscuro, designed by Aparna Gangadharan, Komal H S and Sangam Kumar Tirkey, students of Diploma in Fashion Design June 2022 at JD Institute of Fashion Technology, Bengaluru for JD Design Awards 2023. The collection paid tribute to Change witnessed from Baroque to Rococo era.

Change is meant to be slow and gradual and the process of it might consist of highs and lows. The result of a true change is always beautiful and so is the change witnessed from Baroque to Rococo era. The evolution from Baroque to Rococo was not in the blink of an eye but a slow and phenomenal transition from darkness to light, bold to soft and dark tones to pastels. The young fashion designers were inspired by the epic transformation that has changed the world we are living in.

This couture collection has symmetrical to asymmetrical silhouettes not only inspired by the change that took place from the Baroque to Rococo era but the entire essence of the era including paintings, architecture, culture, and fashion.

The collection won the coveted Jury Choice Award.
