CareCube is a project presented at JD Design Awards that paid tribute to Dr Shankare Gowda. The project was curated by Sushmitha J who is pursuing her MSc in Interior Design from JD School of Design Bangalore. The designer’s mission was to bring accessible healthcare to rural areas, and hence she designed a cost-effective and sustainable solution for remote regions by reusing shipping containers. She transformed them into a fully functional primary health care clinic. She has used minimalistic design and foldable seating made of reclaimed wood.

For the project CareCube designer Sushmitha J received the Best Project of the Year Award from JD Design Awards.
