It’s Christmas and JD Institute of Fashion Technology, Bangalore organized a Baking Mela to bring out the hidden bakers among their students and showcase their homemade magic. The homebakers brought their A game to the table and enthralled their peers and faculties alike on 13^th December 2019, at the Brigade Road campus. There were a plethora of goodies and games on offer to ensure that everyone had a good time.

The food line-up included caramel chocolates, apple infused chocolate sweet with three different toppings of chocolate, condensed milk and peach cream; delectable chocolate cake; cupcakes with colorful cream toppings; cheesecake; chocolate chip cookies; brownies; trifle in cute little bottles and a savoury pizza inspired dish. For the health conscious, there was a stall put up by a  there was granola, cream crackers, cupcakes and brownies all made out of healthy options like ragi, millet, wholewheat etc.

To burn some calories there was a stall that had a trick and dare game. The trick was to guess which cup had chocolates and the dare was to perform tasks that included frog jumps, push-ups to name a few. With Christmas just round the corner the students decorated the space with Christmas tree and baubles alongwith some cheerful songs to ring in the festivities. With all the faculties and students under one roof, it was an afternoon of food, dance and cheer. Our closet bakers upped their sales skills and it was a delight to see them put into practice some of their theoretical entrepreneurial knowledge from their modules into practice.

It is important to dabble into other areas of interests to keep oneself engaged and go beyond one track mind for entrepreneurial pursuits. JD Institute, Bangalore encourages their students to take up various interests to bring out their creativity and provides platforms that help students to unleash their hidden skills to nurture and hone their multitude of talents.
