Basics of Colour Theory – By Mr.Alok Kumar Sharma

A Seminar on ‘Basics of Colour Theory’ was delivered by Mr. Alok Kumar Sharma, General Manager of Ram Kumar at JD Institute of Fashion Technology. Through the seminar, the students were enlightened about the various processes in Dyeing and Printing in the Textile Industry. They were also exposed to the ‘Ishihara Colour Test’ in order to self analyze the colour metamerism under different situations which could help them become an expert in the colour analysis field. Mr. Kumar who has completed Masters in Analytical Chemistry and has more than 40 years of experience in textile processing industry, mainly in quality control and production, explained the minute details in colour theory to the students. He even educated them on the various instruments that act as an important accessory in identifying and studying various colours. It was an informative session with actual industry examples and experiences shared by an industry expert.
