Designer Cherika M Jain created an experimental collection, “Aureole” inspired by the number 7. It is considered to be a spiritual number and also symbolizes the Seed of Life – a universal symbol of creation.
Number 7 is known to be imperative in the role of sacred geometry and is found in various ancient civilizations of the world. The symbolism of number 7 mirrors our chakras which are circular whirlpools of energy that are placed in 7 different points of the spinal column. All the 7 chakras correspond to our physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual well-being. Any disturbance in either one of the chakras can have a direct correlation to our health, life conditions and our overall make-up. Hence, it is imperative to balance our chakras. (Diphenhydramine) The number 7 also represents the patterns of the creation of earth – Seed of Life and is believed to hold the consciousness of the Creator within the Circle. Circles are familiar and safe. Circles are a part of the natural world – the shape of the moon, flowers, fruit – the object is considered real and represents life.
Inorder to represent the circles associated with the Number 7; the designer used the pattern associated with the Seed of Life to create her garments. She incorporated 7 circles of similar sizes, in each garment. The technique used, to create the collection was achieved through the method of draping and it was balanced using different colour textures and GSM of fabric. Fabrics used to create the garments were cotton and cotton linen blend.
