Aundentia was designed by Nandita Ruth Ravichander and Dhanalakshmi H B, students of BSc. in Fashion and Apparel Design at JD School of Design powered by JD Institute of Fashion Technology for JD Design Awards 2023. The collection paid tribute to Marilyn Monroe.

In her early years, Monroe faced a challenging childhood marked by foster care and instability. However, her beauty and talent propelled her towards stardom. With memorable roles in films like “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes” (1953) and “The Seven Year Itch” (1955), Monroe became a symbol of Hollywood glamour and sex appeal, captivating audiences worldwide. Her tragic death in 1962 at the age of 36 solidified her status as an enduring cultural icon.

The objective is to create a garment that pays homage to Marilyn Monroe and showcases her remarkable spirit of courage. The design should embrace Monroe’s classic style, incorporating modern elements that represent her fearlessness and ability to challenge societal norms.
