About the Artisan: ANTS, has created a space which generates positive stories about the north east.

The Bodo weavers of the North East weave beautiful motifs based on nature using the EXTRA WARP technique.  The technique involves lifting one set of ground warp along with the extra warp shafts and then introducing the weft. The ground warp shafts are operated by feet and the set of extra warp are operated by hand. For this, they use a very crude, basic frame loom made out of bamboo called ZIDAGR. The Bodos even today weave and wear their traditional dresses called Dokhana.

The students of JD Institute of Fashion Technology were given an opportunity to interact with the unrecognized craftsmen and artisans in order to give them a platform to showcase their untapped skills.
